Regular meeting January 30th--Webelos from Pack 371 visiting
Be sure to attend the regular meeting on January 30, 2012 when Webelos from Pack 371 Gloria Dei will visit our Troop. SPL, ASPL and patrol leaders will help us plan a fun meeting with age appropriate activities and games to make the Webelos feel welcome to our Troop. Be sure to attend in Class A uniform (as s always expected except during the summer) to help make a good impression to the Webelos and their parents who will be coming to visit our Troop. There will be a chance for the parents to meet with the Troops leaders and we will have promotional materials such as Troop 731 newsletters available for them to see. Hope to see you all there!
National Youth Leadership Training--June 3-8, 2012 at Lewis and Clark Scout Camp
Scouts interested in attending National Youth Leadership Training should circle the dates of June 3-8, 2012.  This year the training will be held at Lewis and Clark Scout Camp.  The Troop will sponsor and pay for your way to attend this training.  This is where you learn how to be a patrol or Troop leader such as SPL or ASPL.  It is also required for Journey to Excellence that we have Scout(s) attend this training.  The Troop will sponsor up to 5 Scouts to attend.  First Class Rank is required.  There will be a sign up and more information to follow.
Sea Base 2013 Trip meeting

Sea Base 2013 Trip meeting

Anyone interested in going to Florida Sea Base with the troop in the summer of 2013, give Brad Weber a call to get information on the trip.

At the first meeting we had 10 Scouts and Dads wanting to go, and 2 interested but not sure.  The Adventures the group talked about were Coral Reef Sailing, and Keys Adventure (we may do both).  Nothing was decided for sure on what to do.

We want to put our request in around the first of February for the adventures we want to do.   We want everyone that’s going to make a decision on the adventure they would like to go on by the January 30th meeting.  We will meet after the regular scout meeting.   If you know what you would like to do give me a call as Soon as possible.

Swimming Merit Badge next meeting Saturday, February 25th 11-1PM

Congratulations to those Scouts working on the Swimming MB.  We have just one more requirement to finish this Eagle qualifying badge.  Be sure to practice your swimming strokes so that you are ready for the final swim test (150 yards, 5 strokes in good form).  We will meet next on Saturday, February 25th at 11 AM at the Sanford Wellness Center.  Be sure to bring your swimming fitness plan (Requirement 10c) to the next meeting or activity.

Any Scouts who need to finish requirements for First Class Trail are welcome to attend.  We can cover the requirements listed for second and first class that we need a pool for.  Please let the Scoutmaster know if you plan to attend.  This will probably be the last pool session before the April Court of Honor.
